I research:

            • school & district implementation of equity-oriented policies
            • consequences of racial & economic segregation between & within schools
            • school discipline & safety policies & practices
            • the preparation of school leaders committed to social justice

I have a PhD in Teaching and Learning from New York University, a master’s in Education, Culture, & Society from the University of Pennsylvania, a master’s in elementary education from the Bank Street College Graduate School of Education, and a bachelor’s from Harvard University in comparative religion.

I grew up in the Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C., lived in New York City for many years, and now reside in Montclair, NJ.
